Karri

Karri was in mid-twenties when she was tested positive for HIV during her second pregnancy. The prognosis of the doctors was that she would have another 3-4 years to live. The AIDS medication she took fully trusting her doctor. She was popular with her doctors and nurses, and was seen as an exemplary patient throughout her treatment. This changed abruptly after 11 years, when Karri decided to stop taking the medication because of the many side effects she was suffering from. The reply of the doctors was: This is simply stupid and you will die soon without this medication”. Karri has lived now for four years without medication and feels better than ever since her diagnosis.

Barbara

Barbara was without her knowledge tested for HIV duing a hospital stay. The 20 year old tested positive. Instead of developing AIDS, she gave birth to four healthy children. Her fourth child wasn’t born by Caesarean section but by home birth and as well Barbara decided to breastfeed her youngest child, she was sentenced to a prison term of 10 months on probation. Her youngest daughter was placed in a children’s home because the mother didn’t want her to give her prescribed medication. The custody of all her children has been withdrawn. The three older children now live with a foster family.

Lindsey

Lindsey was adopted as a baby by an American couple. In her native country, Romania she was tested for HIV, which was negative. A subsequent test in the U.S. was positive. The parents gave her the recommended anti-retroviral drugs and had to watch as thier child suffered from severe leg pains and was no longer growing. They discovered an article by Dr. Peter Duesberg of Berkeley. He advised the parents to stop anti-retroviral treatments immediately. The leg pain disappeared within 2 months and Lindsey had since then regained normal weight. She is now a 19 year old woman with a lot future plans. In the early 1990′s she was one of the so called “Aids Babies” from Minnesota. Of the 12 babies, Lindsey is the only survivor.

Line

Line was persuaded by doctors to an HIV test because she was expecting a child from an African. The test was positive for both her and her partner. Both parents have not contacted AIDS to this day. Thier child is now 23 years old and perfectly healthy, even without ever being treated with AIDS medicine. Line was sued by an ex-partner in court because he claimed she infected him with HIV. Line was convicted and served 2 years in prison.
